Jennette Higgs
Jennette is a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nutritionist and Principal Consultant for Food To Fit Ltd, a well-established international Nutrition & Dietetic Consultancy, www.foodtofit.com. She has over 30 years’ experience of working in industry, hospitals and community settings, in clinical, advisory and management roles. Significant activity over the past 8yrs has focused around implementation of the European Nutrition & Health Claims Regulations, assisting clients on research, labeling and communications implications, across a range of foods and drinks, from individual fresh and dried fruits, juices, vegetables and nuts, to full retail product ranges. Food To Fit Ltd.works with food industry clients on strategic, marketing, PR and nutrition research issues.
Jennette writes for consumer, health professional and academic journals and websites; produces slimming diets for Women’s magazines; and is a nutrition communications media specialist and conference presenter. Dietetic experience includes clinical and sports dietetics, catering, eating disorders, food allergy management, learning disabilities and schools health promotion & catering. Industry roles include 5 years with Nutricia Ltd and 8 years with the Meat and Livestock Commission. Jennette was a Trustee and Project Director for the Health Education Trust for 20yrs, a registered charity committed to promoting good practice within and around school food and nutrition issues. She spearheaded an EU project around improving food allergy awareness and management in secondary schools. Jennette is European Nutrition Consultant for American Pistachio Growers.
